Job summary

Major Recruitment Coventry is seeking a Machine Operative for the night shift to manufacture automotive components. You will operate CNC lathes and VMC milling centres, follow engineering guidelines, and work to ISO9001 standards within a busy machine shop.

You will monitor speeds and feeds, perform in-cycle inspections with micrometers and CMM reports, participate in 5S, handovers, and team collaboration, and be flexible to support other production areas and overtime when required.

Qualifications

• Proven background in precision manufacturing and machining.
• Experience in automotive sector or high-volume batch production.
• Experience using engineering measuring equipment.
• Familiarity with FANUC and Heidenhain control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and/or VMC milling centres for high-precision parts.
• Monitor speeds/feeds and track performance to optimise efficiency.
• Perform in-cycle inspections with micrometers, verniers and CMM reports.
• Engage in multi-manning to maximise throughput.
• Complete production logs and ISO9001-compliant records.
• Maintain 5S standards for a clean, safe workspace.
• Provide clear shift handovers and updates.
• Collaborate with the team and undertake additional duties as needed.
