Job summary

Gateway Electronic Components, part of the Solid-State plc group, is expanding its specialist machine shop in Nantwich and recruiting a hands-on Production Operative.

You will operate CNC milling machines and related equipment to produce precision components, read engineering drawings and maintain high quality standards while supporting continuous improvement within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC milling machines or other CNC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines, NC surface grinders, lapping machines and laser equipment to manufacture precision components.
• Set, run and adjust machines to achieve tolerances, finishes and output rates.
• Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, gauges and CMM where applicable.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and tool changes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and collaborate with the Machine Shop Manager.
