Job summary

ROC Engineering in Queniborough, Leicestershire, is seeking a motivated CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components in a fast-paced environment.

You will interpret engineering drawings, adjust tooling and parameters, perform inspections with basic measuring tools, and support grinding or welding as needed while maintaining clean, safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks) and CAM tooling for toolpath generation.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Welding or grinding experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces per specifications.
• Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks for design interpretation.
• Operate CNC mills to produce parts with high precision per engineering drawings.
• Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using hand tools and gauges.
• Adjust machine parameters and tooling to optimize performance and maintain tolerances.
• Perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment, and support grinding or welding when required.
