First Base Employment Ltd are recruiting for an experienced CNC Milling Setter/Operator to join their Derby-based manufacturing team. The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC milling machines, read engineering drawings, and ensure components meet strict aerospace-quality standards in a high-precision, low-volume environment.

You will typically have around 3 years of CNC Milling Setter/Operator experience, apprentice-trained with relevant engineering qualifications, and a strong focus

Formación

• Experience working to Aerospace standards.
• Proven CNC Milling Setter/Operator experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with Heidenhain-controlled CNC milling machines.
• Experience in a high-precision, low-volume manufacturing environment.
• Around 3 years in a CNC Milling Setter/Operator role.
• Apprentice-trained with relevant engineering qualifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently within a precision engineering environment.

Responsabilidades

• Use and control CNC programmes in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine setting and operation.
• Understand and adjust set-up parameters, including datum setting, tool length and tool wear offsets.
• Set up CNC milling machines using the required workholding and tooling.
• Edit CNC programmes where required.
• Complete machining operations efficiently and accurately in line with Job Card instructions and required output levels.
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and engineering standards.
