Job summary

Proman is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machine Operator/Setter to join their production team. The role focuses on setting and operating the XYZ SMX 4000 milling machine with ProtoTRAK controller, ensuring components meet engineering drawings and tolerances.

You will load materials, adjust tooling and offsets, perform precision machining, read drawings, and document production and quality checks in a safety-conscious environment. This is not a programming role.

Qualifications

• Previous machining experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Confident with measuring equipment like verniers/micrometers.
• Able to work to tight tolerances and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate an XYZ SMX 4000 milling machine.
• Use ProtoTRAK/ProTRAK controller in day-to-day operations.
• Load and secure materials, tooling and fixtures.
• Adjust tooling, machine settings and fixture offsets as required.
• Machining of components to engineering drawings and specs.
• Use measuring equipment to check tolerances.
• Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace.
• Support teamwork and continuous improvement in manufacturing.
