Job summary

Cirrus Selection is hiring for a Cable Harness Assembler based on-site in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. You will build and inspect high-reliability cable harnesses, wiring looms and electro-mechanical assemblies for military, defence and aerospace equipment, following detailed drawings and build instructions.

Day-to-day you’ll perform wire preparation, crimping, soldering, connector assembly, lacing, bundling and harness dressing to exact standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in cable harness assembly, wiring looms or electro-mechanical assembly.
Confidence reading engineering drawings, schematics, wiring schedules and build instructions.
Hands-on crimping, soldering, cable preparation and connector assembly skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a genuine focus on quality and workmanship.
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Build and inspect high-reliability cable harnesses and wiring looms.
Follow detailed engineering drawings and build instructions to spec.
Perform in-process self-inspections and electrical tests (continuity, insulation resistance, functional testing).
Maintain full traceability by keeping manufacturing and quality records.
Adhere to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 standards to ensure compliance.
