Job summary

Taylor Hobson is seeking a full-time Assembly Technician to join the Product Assembly team. This role focuses on precise electrical and mechanical assembly and testing of high-precision metrology instruments. On-site training is provided and some shift work may be required.

Reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, assembling and calibrating components, and collaborating with engineers to improve processes will be key duties. A strong quality focus and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical Assembly.
• Able to read and digest mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience building intricate mechanical assemblies.
• Strong focus on delivering quality products.
• Methodical approach to precision assembly.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skills in electrical and mechanical precision assembly with the ability to support internal customers, other departments, and team members.
• Support the implementation of new products into production by supporting prototype builds, team training, and SOPs to drive efficiency.
• Work with Engineers to develop techniques and processes to improve current methods, ensuring high-quality and cost-efficient products.
• Remain task oriented, consistently delivering high levels of output and customer satisfaction.
• Add to the existing team ethos by working closely with colleagues to deliver Operation Excellence.
• Assemble, test, and calibrate valuable products, at times working with small components and demanding deadlines.
• Develop product knowledge to support all areas of Assembly production when required.
• Ensure high standards of quality throughout the Assembly cells to deliver excellence in customer service.
• Become a role model to other team members and Apprentices, promoting high standards and a positive work ethic.
