Job description

Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Apprentice

Join to apply for the Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Apprentice role at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

This role involves undertaking a 24-month development programme to become a Pharmacy Technician through work-based learning and regular training sessions. Supervision and support will be provided throughout, enabling the apprentice to gain experience, confidence, and deliver effective, safe, patient-focused support to the designated team.

Successful completion of the programme will lead to a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the general work of the hospital pharmaceutical service as a full team member in each section during a two-year contract.
  • Learn, under supervision, to practice the skills of pharmacy technicians.
  • Undertake a course of study by day release and assessment for the Level 3 Diploma.
  • Attend day release at an appointed Further Education College.
  • Complete some study outside of working hours, such as college assignments.
  • Potential placements with St Ann’s Hospital (base) and Edgware Community Hospital.
