Job description

Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program

We offer a 24-month development programme to become a Pharmacy Technician through work-based learning and regular training sessions. Supervision and support are provided throughout, enabling apprentices to gain experience, confidence, and deliver safe, patient-focused support within our organization.

Successful completion of the programme leads to a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.

Key Responsibilities and Training
  • Participate as a full team member in the hospital pharmaceutical service during the two-year contract.
  • Learn pharmacy skills under the guidance of registered pharmacists, qualified technicians, and other staff.
  • Undertake coursework by day release and assessment in preparation for the Level 3 Diploma.
  • Attend day release at an appointed Further Education College.
  • Complete some study outside of working hours, including college assignments and evidence collection.
  • Potential placements at St Ann’s Hospital (base) and Edgware Community Hospital.
