Aneurin Bevan University Health Board supports flexible working. There is a temporary top-up for Bands 2 and 3 reflecting the living wage of £12.60/hour (£24,638/year). This is until the 2025/26 pay uplift is confirmed.

Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician (Training post - Annex 21)
This is a 24-month fixed-term training contract due to funding. It offers experience and qualification to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Salary: Initially Annex 21 Band 4 - 70%, progressing to 75% after 12 months. The programme is delivered by HEIW via a Welsh Government Apprenticeship. Successful completion enables registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
The apprenticeship allows you to obtain the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice while working in a hospital role. Some study in your own time is required.
Pharmacy Technicians develop expertise in medicines and healthcare, working as part of healthcare teams in hospitals, manufacturing units, community pharmacies, and GP practices. They focus on medicine management to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.
All applicants must have at least 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C, including English, maths, and at least one science subject. Certificates must be produced if shortlisted.

We seek enthusiastic, organized, and motivated individuals to join our Pharmacy team at Aneurin Bevan Health Board. Training posts are available at Royal Gwent Hospital (Newport) and Grange University Hospital (Cwmbran).
The role is varied and evolving, offering experience in dispensing, medication management, patient advice, and exploring areas like clinical trials, aseptic production, procurement, outpatient clinics, and community response teams.
