Planning Appeals Technician £24,836 - £26,717 per annum, 37 hours per week, Permanent, Coleford

About the role

As a Planning Appeals Technician, you will provide administrative support to the Appeals Officer and assist in the daily operations of the planning department. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Registering and monitoring appeals using the CAPS system and communicating with main parties.
  2. Completing Land Charges Searches.
  3. Recording and monitoring Section 106 and S111 planning agreements.
  4. Liaising with consultees.
  5. Maintaining and producing performance statistics.
  6. Providing cover for planning enforcement administration.

The ideal candidate will be calm, confident, organized, and possess strong IT skills, with the ability to build customer relationships.

This is a new role covering the Forest of Dean district, an area rich in natural beauty, suitable for hiking and cycling enthusiasts.

Requirements

You will need:

  • A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE Grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
  • Ability to build customer relationships.
  • Experience in assessing routine situations and conducting inspections.
  • Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and environments.
  • Ability to resolve routine issues through negotiation.

Special Conditions: Ability to travel.
