Job description

The Vacancy

Job Purpose:


This is a key position, responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues at your assigned sites. You may need to request specialist attendance following initial call-outs. The role also involves reactive and planned maintenance of food services and catering equipment, with training provided. Specialist attendance may be required after initial call-outs.


The objective of this role is to perform technical repairs and PPMs, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is completed accurately and promptly. Work must be completed to high standards, efficiently and cost-effectively, in compliance with all Health and Safety legislation.


Key Accountabilities:

People

  • Attend necessary training courses to keep skills updated with technical developments

Performance

  • Prioritize maintenance and repair work to meet timescales
  • Complete all scheduled PPMs and reactive maintenance within deadlines, ensuring paperwork is accurate
  • Respond promptly to service requests and assess repair requirements
  • Identify non-repairable faults and advise management with recommendations
  • Inform site managers of issues affecting operations
  • Conduct surveys and complete reports as required
  • Maintain quality standards in collaboration with company and customer staff
  • Perform minor alterations and installations within your technical competence
  • Carry out repairs on food service assets, adhering to policies
  • Maintain compliance documentation
  • Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships
  • Update the Mercury system with live job statuses

Process

  • Follow Health and Safety policies at all times
  • Complete mandatory training and modules
  • Conduct emergency lighting tests and log repairs
  • Ensure all compliance documentation is current
  • Communicate effectively with team and management
  • Follow purchase order procedures and obtain necessary approvals

Other

  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required
  • Participate in a 1-in-4 standby on-call rota

Financial Responsibilities: Log material spending and handle purchasing.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum GCSE/Standard Grade education; NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1+2 or equivalent in electrical maintenance
  • City and Guilds 2382 18th edition
  • Knowledge of 3-phase electrics
  • Ability to repair electrical and mechanical food service equipment
  • Quality, speed, and efficiency in repairs
  • Timely response to service requests and PPM schedules
  • Adherence to Health and Safety policies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Full driving license
