Job summary

Circle Health in Coventry is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant for Pre-Operative Assessment on a bank, as-and-when-required basis. You will support hygiene, mobility and nutrition, record observations, and help with basic clinical tasks while covering staff during busy periods or leave.

We value compassionate teamwork, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to work closely with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to ensure safe patient care in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, dressing and toileting while respecting dignity.
• Assist with eating, drinking and nutritional support with intake documentation.
• Record routine observations (BP, pulse, resp rate, temp, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Support wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, trolleys and equipment for patient use.
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring approach.
• Physically capable of moving and handling tasks; follow instructions and escalate concerns.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe patient care.
• Supplement staffing during busy periods and provide cover for annual leave.
• Contribute to a caring, safe environment for patients and relatives.
