Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Pre-Operative Assessment team in London. You will support patients preparing for surgery, perform clinical observations and assist with investigations under supervision.

The role is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months, with NHS pay scale. Applicants should have at least six months' HCA experience and an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) plus a Care Certificate.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) with a Care Certificate.
• At least six months' healthcare assistant experience.
• Experience with phlebotomy, ECG, glucose monitoring and MRSA screening.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-operative assessment appointments and observations.
• Record vital signs and assist with diagnostic tests.
• Provide information and reassurance to patients before surgery.
• Escalate concerns to registered nurses as needed.
