Job summary

Newmedica is seeking a compassionate Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our ophthalmology service in the UK. You will perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments, identify risks and gaps, and coordinate with patients, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe surgical care.

There is a rota including weekends, 37.5 hours over 4-5 days. You must be a fully qualified Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC or HCPC registration, and you will maintain accurate

Qualifications

• Experience conducting patient assessments and clinical observations.
• Ability to escalate concerns and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong IT and record-keeping skills for accurate clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive pre-operative assessments for ophthalmic surgery.
• Identify clinical risks and information gaps; coordinate with patients, GPs and consultants.
• Support patients throughout the surgical journey, including occasional post-operative recovery and discharge.
