Job summary

Thompsons Solicitors is seeking a Pre-Litigation Executive to support Personal Injury claims across RTA, EL and PL matters. Based in Birmingham, Dagenham, Liverpool or Newcastle, you’ll progress cases with analytical rigor and a client‑focused approach, contributing to strong outcomes for union members and clients.

Qualifications

• Strong client-care skills and confidence communicating by phone or in person.
• Knowledge of PI law, Pre-Action Protocols, CPR, and funding (or the ability to learn quickly).
• The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and manage a busy caseload.
• Excellent drafting, numeracy, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigating and gathering evidence to determine whether cases should proceed to litigation.
• Preparing files for issue, including assessing merits, obtaining liability evidence, securing medical reports, and instructing experts.
• Managing a high-volume caseload with accuracy, organisation, and confidence.
• Taking clear, detailed instructions from clients, witnesses, experts, and union partners.
• Making informed decisions under supervision, using sound judgment and strong analytical skills.
• Working efficiently within a KPI framework and recording time accurately.
• Using a case management system to produce your own work and stay fully self-sufficient.
