Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Pre‑Construction Manager for civil engineering projects in Birmingham. The role focuses on transforming tender opportunities into construction‑ready schemes, balancing pre‑construction with delivery planning, and driving buildability improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong civil engineering background and significant pre‑construction or project delivery experience, with a capability to manage design coordination and client liaison

Qualifications

Strong background within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure or Heavy Civils.
Experience at Project Manager/Senior Project Manager/Construction Manager or Pre‑Construction Manager level.
Experience coordinating design and technical information on complex projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the technical development of major Civil Engineering projects through pre‑construction and into delivery.
Work across a 30% tender / 70% post‑tender and pre‑delivery split.
Review tender opportunities from a technical and construction perspective.
Develop construction methodologies, buildability solutions, phasing and sequencing strategies.
Lead and support projects through PCSA and extended ECI stages.
Ensure projects are technically developed and de‑risked before reaching site.
