Job summary

Orion Group is seeking a Pre-Construction Project Manager for their North East Scotland team. You will work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor to monitor financial status and develop the main works programme.

Applicants should hold a Construction or Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent trade background) and demonstrate leadership, safety focus, and experience managing multidisciplinary teams on construction projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering or trade background with leadership experience in construction.
• Ability to supervise projects from inception to completion while prioritising health & safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Project Quantity Surveyor to report on current and projected financial status.
• Develop the main logic of works programme and ensure no on-site work starts without the health and safety policy and construction phase plan.
• Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments with the Safety Plan and follow CDM Regulations as Principal Contractor.
• Provide leadership and support to all employees.
• Manage labour and maintain high productivity.
• Expedite materials and information release from the design team.
• Comply with the company’s Quality Procedure and Manual.
• Manage all sub-contractors and supply chain effectively.
• Supervise the quality of the works and hand over a snag-free building.

Orion Group is supporting a successful and long established construction client to source a Pre-Construction Project Manager to join their North East Scotland based team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing input to report on the current and projected financial status of the project.
• Help develop the project’s main logic of works programme and ensure that no work commences on site until health and safety policy and the relevant construction phase plan are in place.
• Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Safety Plan and observe the requirements of the CDM Regulations in the status of Principal Contractor.
• Provide leadership and support to all employees.
• Manage labour and maintain high productivity.
• Expedite materials and information release from the design team.
• Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Procedure and Manual.
• Manage all sub-contractors and supply chain effectively.
• Supervise the quality of the works and hand over a snag-free building.

What we need from you

• You are qualified to a Degree level in Construction or Civil Engineering or have a trade background within construction, with demonstrable leadership and management experience within the construction industry or housebuilding sector.
• Ability to supervise projects from inception to completion while exemplifying commitment to Health & Safety and ensuring quality and best practice.
