About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station in the UK in over 20 years, Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs, and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in revitalizing the nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will significantly reduce carbon emissions, offsetting 9 million tonnes of CO2 annually.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Site-wide Pre Construction Lead, you will manage a team of Pre Construction Engineers across HVAC, Piping, and Electrical disciplines.

• Manage the pre-construction area team.
• Coordinate design and material procurement according to project needs, providing feedback on design and supply priorities.
• Issue work information and make decisions to proceed with installation at risk.
• Facilitate effective communication between design, supply chain, and construction teams for seamless pre-construction activities.
• Define the integrated sequence with site construction teams, area management, and Tier 1 contractors.
• Ensure the scope list for installation is optimized for site work and resource utilization.
• Oversee overall readiness and the 16-week look-ahead plan for MEH Alliance.
• Promote health and safety standards, including conducting site inspections to ensure safety compliance and a positive nuclear safety culture.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and stakeholder presentations highlighting achievements, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Who we're looking for

• Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training/experience.
• Proven experience in a highly regulated sector, preferably nuclear.
• Experience in major construction projects.
• Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level.
• Proficiency in Navisworks and Excel.
• Ability to achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or higher).
• CCNSG Safety Passport.
