Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Pre-Construction Lead to support clients during the pre-construction phase of selected projects. You will engage early with clients, prepare pre-construction documentation, and review designs with the Design and Technical Manager to flag potential issues.

The role requires a solid background in construction design or project management (preferably sprinkler systems), strong interpersonal skills, and meticulous planning.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education as listed (HNC/ONC/BTEC or A‑Level).
• Strong technical knowledge of fire suppression and fire protection systems.
• 3–5 years in the construction industry in a design or project management role, preferably within the sprinkler industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide early project engagement and initial client support during the pre-construction phase.
• Produce all necessary pre-construction documentation per client requirements.
• Carry out a technical review with the Design and Technical Manager to advise on design departures and certification issues.
• Carry out pre-procurement with suppliers and sub-contractors as necessary.
• Attend pre-construction meetings as necessary.

As the Pre-Construction Lead, you will be responsible for providing support to the client during the pre-construction phase of selected projects.

Job Description

• Responsible for providing early project engagement and to provide the client with initial support during the pre-construction phase of selected projects
• Responsible for the production of all necessary project related pre-construction documentation on selected projects in accordance with the client's requirements
• Responsible for the carrying out a technical review in conjunction with the Design and Technical Manager during the pre-construction phase of selected projects in order to advise the client of any departures from the design standard and any potential certification issues
• Carry out pre-procurement with suppliers and sub-contractors as necessary
• Attend pre-construction meetings as necessary

Required Experience And Skills

• Post-secondary education, HNC, ONC, BTEC or ‘A' Level
• Good technical knowledge of fire suppression and fire protection systems
• 3-5 years' experience within the construction industry in a design or project management role, preferably within the sprinkler industry
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Numerate, analytical / problem solving, attention to detail, good planner, well organised and resourceful
