Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Essex is seeking a hands-on Pre-Commissioning Water Treatment Engineer to service closed low-temperature hot water and chilled water systems. The role covers site work across Essex and Kent, with travel up to 100 miles, a company van, and salary £34,000–£40,000 depending on experience.

You will carry out flushing, chlorination, and reporting using company software, build strong client relationships, and have a solid background in water treatment, BSRIA and COSHH, plus

Qualifications

• 2 years’ industry experience.
• Hands-on flushing/water treatment experience within building services.
• Solid grasp of BSRIA and COSHH standards.
• Comfortable with occasional overnight travel (up to 100 miles).
• UK Driving Licence and CSCS SkillCard desirable.

Responsibilities

• Flushing and cleaning closed low-temperature hot water and chilled water systems.
• Chlorinating domestic water systems across storage tanks and pipework.
• Producing accurate test sheets and reports via company software/apps.
• Building strong relationships with clients on-site.

A hands‑on flushing and water treatment role where your technical skill and client-facing manner are genuinely valued, not just ticked off a list.

We’re working with an established building services business, looking for a detail-focused engineer who can represent them confidently on-site and build lasting client relationships.

Your day-to-day:

• Flushing and cleaning closed low-temperature hot water and chilled water systems
• Chlorinating domestic water systems across storage tanks and pipework
• Producing accurate test sheets and reports via company software/apps
• Building strong relationships with clients on-site

What you’ll need:

• 2 years’ industry experience
