Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC pin and no restrictions on practice.
• Experience in Pre-Assessment or equivalent settings.
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient IT skills and experience with electronic patient records.
• Phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG competency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments.
• Triaging and assessing patients to ensure suitability for surgery.
• Identify and escalate potential clinical concerns.
• Support safe, personalised patient care throughout the surgical pathway.
• Provide clear information and reassurance to patients and families.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
