We have a new opportunity within the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. We are seeking an enthusiastic practitioner psychologist to support adults with Cystic Fibrosis and their systems.
The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment, as well as advice and consultation to colleagues. There are opportunities for research and service development, with support for professional growth including funding for conferences and training.
This role involves working alongside two other practitioner psychologists (0.5 WTE Band 7 and 0.5 WTE Band 8a). The post is within the Barts Heart and Thorax Psychological Services, with supervision and line management provided by this service. The role offers diverse experience and skill development.
Working pattern:
Note: Other working patterns are not available for this position.
The post-holder will work autonomously within the CF service, providing specialist psychological care, and will be accountable to the service lead. They will have access to peer support, team meetings, reflective practice, and CPD opportunities, including Special Interest Groups (e.g., EMDR, Narrative Therapy).
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing therapy, advising colleagues, and contributing to service development. The role involves working with inpatient and outpatient adults (16+), supporting staff and carers, and engaging in research and policy development.

Qualifications include a good honours degree in Psychology, HCPC/BPS accredited postgraduate training, registration with HCPC, and post-doctoral specialist training.
