Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Lerwick GP Practice is seeking a part-time Practice Receptionist to join the team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. The role is 21 hours per week, Band 3, with pro rata salary and Distant Islands Allowance.

The post involves handling public queries, typing letters and referrals, and providing vital reception support in a busy GP practice. Training on the job will be provided.

Practice Receptionist – Lerwick GP Practice (Ref: 258043)

Fixed term post for 12 months

Part Time - 21 hours per week

Band 3, Salary Range £29,103 - £31,409 per annum (pro rata)

Distant Islands Allowance of £2,578 per annum (pro rata)

An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Band 3 Receptionist in the Lerwick GP Practice. The Lerwick Practice is a salaried General Practice, providing medical services to a population of approximately 8,700 patients.

This contract is fixed-term from 12 months of start date; to allow for ongoing workforce planning and review of establishment.

In this busy and demanding post, you will find no two days the same – the Reception staff have a key role in answering queries from members of the public as well as typing letters and referrals. Previous experience of working in a GP Practice would be an advantage but training on the job will be given.
