Job summary

Ratby Medical Centre is seeking a compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. This permanent, part-time role (20-25 hours, 4–5 days) offers flexibility for the right candidate and is based at our modern surgery just outside Leicester.

You’ll deliver high-quality patient care, manage long-term conditions, administer vaccines, and work with a supportive multidisciplinary team to maintain continuity of care. 30 hours per week were referenced as a target in the description.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience as a Practice Nurse in general practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in a general practice setting.
• Carry out chronic disease management (diabetes, asthma, COPD, CVD where trained).
• Perform cervical cytology, immunisations, travel vaccines.
• Venepuncture and ECGs.
• Maintain accurate clinical records using SystmOne.
• Support QOF and enhanced services.
• Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to deliver care.

Are you an enthusiastic Practice Nurse looking for a welcoming, forward-thinking practice where you can truly feel part of the team? Due to our increasing patient list size, we’re expanding our nursing team and would love you to join us.

About the Role

Ratby Medical Centre is looking for a compassionate and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly clinical team on a permanent basis. You’ll be supported by a close-knit, approachable team in our modern, purpose-built surgery just outside Leicester.

We’re looking for someone to work 30 hours per week, ideally spread across 4–5 days to help maintain continuity of care, although we’re happy to discuss flexibility for the right candidate.

As a Practice Nurse, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the ongoing development of our nursing services.

Main Duties

• Chronic disease management (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD and Cardiovascular Disease where appropriately trained)
• Cervical cytology
• Childhood and adult immunisations
• Travel vaccinations and advice
• Wound care and dressings
• Venepuncture and ECGs
• NHS Health Checks
• Health promotion and lifestyle advice
• Infection prevention and control lead
• Supporting QOF and enhanced services
• Maintaining accurate clinical records using SystmOne
• Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care
