Job summary

Fieldhead Surgery in Huddersfield is looking for a friendly General Practice Nurse to join our well-established nursing team. You will be NMC registered and share in the usual distribution of work across our nurse team.

You will deliver Chronic Disease Management, health promotion, immunisations, cervical cytology teaching, minor injury treatment and travel health advice, while supporting GPs with procedures and pathology requests.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration and Up-to-date practice standards
• Experience working in a GP/nurse team setting is desirable
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Chronic Disease Management/Long Term Conditions within the clinic setting
• Health Promotion
• Collaborate with and support clients and other primary health care team members
• Cervical cytology & teaching breast awareness
• Treatment of minor injuries
• LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative work
• Routine immunisations / Childhood immunisations
• Travel health advice and vaccinations
• Menopause and HRT consultations
• Smoking Cessation
• Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles and Pertussis in Pregnancy vaccinations
• Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
• Requesting pathology tests, e.g. urine culture, swabs
• Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
