Qualifications

• Experience in nursing as part of a nursing team.
• Experience dealing with vulnerable patients.
• Current UK professional registration is required.
• Desirable: experience in primary care or GP practice.

Responsibilities

• Wound care and compression bandaging.
• Removal of sutures.
• Diabetes care and management.
• ECGs.
• Asthma/Spirometry.
• Blood pressure measurements.
• Routine immunisations, including childhood immunisations and flu clinics.
• Cervical smears and vaginal swabs.

We are a large friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team of GPs, nurses, allied clinicians and skilled, experienced administrators. We are a progressive and supportive training Practice looking for a like-minded Practice Nurse who enjoys a challenge, is forward thinking and passionate about primary care.

Job responsibilities

Experience in nursing is essential but a knowledge of chronic diseases is desirable. The role is varied and covers all aspects of general practice nursing including:

• Wound care and compression bandaging
• Removal of sutures
• Diabetes
• ECGs
• Asthma/Spirometry
• Blood pressure measurements
• Routine immunisations including childhood immunisations & flu clinics
• Cervical smears, vaginal swabs
