Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse for a GP practice in Wolverhampton. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics within a structured primary care setting.

Responsibilities include immunisations, wound care and handling recalls, with access to EMIS/SystmOne/Vision systems. Regular or ad-hoc sessions with morning/afternoon availability are offered, suitable for ongoing bookings.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.

This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.
