Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Grangetown. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong assessment skills who can deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Strong chronic disease management and treatment room skills.
• Excellent patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children's immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
