Job Summary

We are a high-achieving, single-handed GP practice located within Stanhope Parade Health Centre, South Shields, serving a population of 2,900 patients. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly team.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate should have practical and confident working knowledge of chronic disease management including diabetes and respiratory medicine, childhood immunisations, cervical screening, health promotion, contraception, adult vaccinations, wound care, ear care, and travel health. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

We are a small, friendly, single-handed GP surgery based in South Shields. We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team. You will collaborate with other members of the general practice team, including colleagues from the Primary Care Network and members of the wider community teams.

Job Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include developing health promotion programmes, managing chronic disease treatment plans, supporting patients at risk of long-term conditions, providing routine nursing care, wound care, travel medicine, requesting and processing pathology services, maintaining accurate records, developing clinics, assisting with minor surgery, and supporting mental health and safeguarding matters. Additional tasks may include leading audits, supporting junior staff, participating in local initiatives, and reviewing clinical practices.
