Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work in a GP practice in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The role focuses on chronic disease reviews, immunisations, wound care and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventive health work and treatment room activity, with clear documentation in the NHS clinical system. Regular or ad-hoc sessions are available.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered Nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation training and cytology training are desirable.
• Strong chronic disease management and clear treatment room-work.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.

Requirements
