Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GP practice Nurse in Margate to deliver chronic disease reviews, wound care, and routine nursing activities within a structured primary care setting.

You will support high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, prevention work, and treatment room tasks, with clear daily clinic structures and nursing leadership to guide delivery.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered with primary care experience.
• Immunisation training up-to-date desirable.
• Cytology training desirable.
• Experience with chronic disease management in primary care.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS completed or in place.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-ups.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.

Locum Ready is looking for a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Margate. This role is ideal for a Practice Nurse with strong assessment skills who can confidently deliver chronic disease reviews, treatment room procedures and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through a balance of clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows, supportive nursing leadership and a clear structure for daily clinic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
