Job summary

The Kakoty Practice is a busy two-site medical centre delivering care to around 7,500 patients. We are recruiting an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly, innovative team, with support from clinical and non-clinical staff.

The role involves independent work and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants should be registered with the NMC, have CPD, and be competent in immunisations, vaccinations, cervical cytology and chronic disease management.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development is required.
• Qualified and competent in immunisations and vaccinations.
• Qualified and competent in cervical cytology or willing to complete the qualification.
• Chronic disease management qualifications or experience preferred.
• Experience as a registered nurse in primary care settings.
• Experience managing long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, CVD).
• Experience in venepuncture/phlebotomy and cervical screening.
• Experience delivering health promotion and maintaining accurate clinical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine nursing services to the patient population.
• Work across two sites within the practice.
• Be part of a multidisciplinary team and participate in health promotion.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to UK NHS guidelines.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, innovative team who are committed to delivering high standard of patient care. You will need to have previous experience working in primary care and have a fully rounded set of skills. You will work both independently and as a member of our multidisciplinary team and will be fully supported by clinical and non-clinical staff.

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

• Qualified and competent in cervical cytology (smears) or willing to complete the necessary qualification
• Chronic Disease Management qualification(s).
• Experience working as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience managing long-term conditions including:

• Cardiovascular disease
• Experience undertaking cervical screening or willing to learn
• Experience administering vaccinations and immunisations.
• Experience in venepuncture/phlebotomy.
• Experience carrying out diabetic foot checks or willing to learn
• Experience delivering health promotion and lifestyle advice.
• Experience maintaining accurate clinical records.
