Job summary

GP Practice in Andover, Hampshire is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join a friendly, supportive clinical team serving over 11,000 patients. You will be involved in chronic disease management, immunisations, health screening and health promotion, with bi-weekly meetings with the Clinical Lead to support development.

Essentially you are a Registered General Nurse with current UK NMC registration, primary care experience, and ongoing CPD.

• Registered General Nurse with current UK NMC registration.
• Primary care / general practice experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care.
• Undertake treatment room duties including chronic disease management (Asthma and COPD).
• Provide immunisations and vaccinations.
• Conduct health screening and health promotion.
• Audit and develop clinical standards.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, patient-focused environment.
• Support health promotion programmes and screening clinics.
• Ensure safe storage and administration of medicines and clinical equipment.
• Provide face-to-face and telephone clinical advice.
• Participate in team meetings to promote best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care
• Undertake treatment room duties including:

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and patient-focused environment
• Assist in the development and delivery of health promotion programmes and screening clinics

• Provide advice and clinical support to patients face-to-face and via telephone
• Actively participate in team meetings to promote best practice

About You

• Registered General Nurse with current UK NMC registration
• Previous primary care / general practice experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
• Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
• Adaptable, proactive, and confident working in a changing healthcare environment
• Good understanding of local and national healthcare policies
• Confident using IT systems (EMIS Web experience desirable)
• Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
