Job summary

IPS Finance is working with an established independent accountancy practice in Barnsley on the appointment of a Practice Manager. This role involves taking a key role in the day to day running of the practice and working closely with the owners.

The firm has a loyal and established client base, predominantly owner managed businesses, and offers potential equity opportunities in the future; the right candidate may see the role evolve beyond traditional boundaries with scope to influence firm

Qualifications

ACA or ACCA qualification preferred.
Experience handling SME and owner-managed clients.
Ability to manage a broad practice portfolio.

Responsibilities

Managing a portfolio of owner managed business clients and acting as a key point of contact.
Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by the wider team.
Preparing accounts where required, particularly for more complex clients.
Supporting and developing junior and qualified members of the team.
Overseeing workflow and helping to manage deadlines across the practice.
Advising clients on accounting software, systems and general business matters.
Working closely with the owners on the continued development of the firm.
Building strong relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to provide additional support.
