Overview
Reporting into the Area Manager, the Pharmacy Practice Manager role combines patient care and commercial responsibilities, requiring a strong leader passionate about healthcare, patients, and driving a profitable business.
This role is accountable for delivering all pharmacy‑related targets and deadlines, managing the store pharmacist and pharmacy colleagues, and supporting the drive to make Asda Pharmacy the best in class.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the pharmacy team to deliver an excellent patient experience and achieve exceptional patient safety.
- Support the direct reports and locums to maintain high standards of professional customer service and compliance with GPhC operating standards and clinical governance.
- Collaborate with in‑store, regional and home office teams to provide clinical or service support.
- Manage the weekly rota and ensure appropriate staffing for the scheduled shifts.
- Challenge, confront and solve difficult situations, maintaining solid connections in‑store and with field teams.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified pharmacist registered with the GPhC.
- Accredited to deliver national and local services for the NHS and private healthcare.
- Experience balancing line manager and pharmacist responsibilities to deliver a safe working environment.
- Inspirational leadership, motivating the team to achieve defined KRAs.
- Experience in challenging and solving difficult situations.
- Valid GPhC registration and right to work in the UK.
- Relevant safeguarding qualifications; DBS check and live update service enrolment required.
