Job summary

Cheshire East Council in Crewe is seeking an experienced adult social care practitioner to join as a full-time Practice Manager, leading a busy frontline team of social workers, social care assessors, OTs and LACs in central Crewe.

You will manage a delegated budget, deploy and supervise staff, drive service improvement, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance. A registered social worker with management experience is required, with a commitment to wellbeing and outcomes for vulnerable people.

Qualifications

• You will be an experienced social worker registered with Social Work England.
• Ideally you will have management or supervisory experience within adult social care.
• Experience of involvement with change and improvement activity, leading to service improvement.
• Understanding the legal framework within which Health and Social Care services operate.

• Manage a delegated budget effectively and appropriately, in accordance with the financial regulations.
• Manage operational social care within a specific locality through the effective deployment and management of a mobile professional social care team, ensuring that services and support meets the assessed and priority needs of vulnerable individuals.
• Co-ordinate and manage arrangements to resolve situations of high complexity and risk.
• Recruit, deploy, manage and develop professional, and as necessary other, staff in accordance with Council policies, managing performance, conduct, attendance and risk. You will be an experienced social worker registered with Social Work England.
• You will ideally already have management or supervisory experience within adult social care.
• Experience of involvement with change and improvement activity, leading to service improvement.
• Understanding the legal framework within which Health and Social Care services operate.
