Job summary

Achieve together is seeking a dedicated care home leadership role to oversee daily operations and staff performance. The role focuses on delivering high-quality care in line with regulatory standards, building a supportive team environment, and ensuring residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

You'll receive training opportunities, flexible hours, and a path for career progression within the organisation. DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the process.

Qualifications

  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required.
  • Experience leading or mentoring others in a care setting is desirable.
  • Experience in healthcare work is advantageous but training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Registered and Deputy Managers as the person in charge for the day‑to‑day running of the home.
  • Leading and supporting a team of staff, including shift leading, mentoring and developing colleagues' skill sets.
  • Promoting a caring environment through high standards of professional practice that meet the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the people we support.
  • Ensuring each person we support receives care appropriate to their individual needs.
  • Understanding and applying mandatory and regulatory requirements, including the Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, Fundamental Standards, CQC/CIW and Safeguarding.
  • Contributing to the assessment of need and the development of care plans for each person we support.
  • Supporting the provision of health care arrangements, including the ordering, recording and administration of prescribed medication.
  • Supporting the efficient running of the home, including menus, dietary needs, supplies, hygiene, maintenance and audits.
  • Ensuring effective communication within the team and supporting team meetings and records.
  • Supporting the induction, supervision and development of team members.
  • Supporting the people we support to manage their own finances wherever possible, advocating for them in line with the Mental Capacity Act.

Requirements
  • It would be advantageous to have some experience of healthcare work for this role, but it isn't absolutely necessary as we provide full training. As long as you're passionate, hard‑working and empathetic, you'll fit right in.
  • Experience of leading or mentoring others within a care setting is desirable.
  • This role will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
