Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council's Children's Social Work Academy is looking for a post-holder to coach and mentor newly qualified social workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and to supervise social work students. The role requires regular time at the Barrow office with some travel across the county.

The successful candidate will have Social Work England registration, an enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List, and substantial post-qualifying experience in children's

Job description

This two-year fixed-term post sits within the Children's Social Work Academy at Westmorland and Furness Council, which recruits and develops social workers. The post-holder gives coaching, mentoring and professional guidance to newly qualified social workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, and to social work students. It is countywide but requires regular time physically based in the Barrow office, with some travel across the county. Candidates need Social Work England registration and an enhanced DBS check with a Children's Barred List check.
