About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cancer Care Practice Educator to support the development of nursing and healthcare staff within our cancer care services. The role involves providing hands-on training, assessing competencies, supporting staff in their SACT passports, and promoting growth in specialist cancer care skills. You will identify learning needs, develop educational programs, contribute to policy development, and enhance the quality of care through education and leadership.

Requirements

This role requires active UK NMC registration. The base location is Bournemouth with cross-site working. The interview date will be confirmed.

Key responsibilities
  1. Act as an expert resource in clinical practice for the multidisciplinary team.
  2. Coordinate staff development within cancer care.
  3. Lead evidence-based practice initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  4. Promote reflective practice and lifelong learning using various methodologies.
  5. Ensure newly qualified practitioners are aware of quality and safety standards.
  6. Work with education providers to meet service needs.
  7. Provide clinical leadership and support for nurses and healthcare assistants.
  8. Support service redesign and development through educational advice.
  9. Develop and coordinate high-quality education and training programs.
  10. Manage the competency passport for safe handling and administration of SACT.
Additional information

Staff may be required to work flexibly across all Trust locations. The service is planned to move during November 2025. Vaccination against COVID-19 is encouraged but not mandatory.
