Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London is seeking an experienced Practice Development Midwife to join the Education Team at QCCH. This role focuses on developing staff, enhancing clinical practice and delivering evidence-based maternity care, while leading education training and development strategies for the maternity service.

You will lead new educational initiatives, support professional development and manage projects, enabling clinicians to work clinically and through training.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current UK registration.
• First degree and evidence of post registration education activity.
• Mentorship qualification or SSSA preparation with assessor experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate educational activities for pre-/post-registration students and RTP midwives with AEIs.
• Provide safe clinical placements; allocate PS/PA; deliver CPD for PS/PA including teaching and assessing.
• Support attendance at SSSA courses; enable midwives to achieve practice assessor status; maintain PA database.
• Together with the education lead, ensure students meet NMC requirements for clinical proficiencies.
