Norfolk County Council is recruiting a permanent Practice Consultant to lead and supervise Social Workers and Assistant Practitioners, with a focus on safeguarding, complex casework and effective discharge planning across Central Norfolk. The role is based at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, Norwich, with hybrid working expectations.

You will provide leadership, ensure high‑quality practice, and work with partner agencies to promote independence and wellbeing for adults aged 18+.

Qualifications

• Leadership and supervision of Social Workers and Assistant Practitioners.
• Leading complex casework and multi‑agency discussions.
• Overseeing adult safeguarding referrals and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Social Work team to deliver safe, effective practice.
• Chair meetings and coordinate multi‑agency decision making.
• Support discharge planning and safeguarding across Central Norfolk.
