Job summary

Castle Employment Group is seeking a Practice Accountant for its Scarborough practice. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, prepare year-end accounts and tax returns, and support bookkeeping and VAT compliance.

The role offers hybrid working in Scarborough with progression opportunities within a growing firm. The ideal candidate has UK accounting practice experience, can work independently, and demonstrates a proactive approach with commercial awareness and client focus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice is essential.
• Proactive with good commercial awareness and common sense.
• Ability to manage a varied client base and own workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of clients.
• Act as main client contact and build relationships.
• Prepare year-end accounts for a range of businesses and individuals.
• Prepare personal and business tax returns.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and general accounting needs.
• Review work by others and manage deadlines.
• Attend client meetings when required.
