Job summary

Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance is seeking a PR and Media Officer to lead media relations and PR activity, raise awareness of the charity's impact in Scotland, and support fundraising in line with the Marketing and Communications Strategy.

You will manage proactive and reactive media engagement, brief spokespeople, organise broadcasts and shoots, and collaborate across the team to deliver clear, engaging stories that boost brand awareness and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Source new PR and media opportunities across broadcast, digital and print to amplify key messages and generate coverage.
• Act as main contact for proactive and reactive media enquiries and coordinate media activity.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver broadcast interviews, filming opportunities and media productions.
• Build relationships with media outlets and journalists to be the authority voice for SCAA.
• Establish stakeholder relationships with service delivery partners to ensure consistent messaging.
• Lead media launches in line with promotional requirements.
• Support crisis communications plans to provide PR resilience.
• Brief SCAA spokespeople for media interviews and events to promote clear messaging.
• Monitor coverage, evaluate reach and impact, and provide insights for future communications.
• Write and source press releases and publications aligned with charity priorities.
• Interview and source patient, crew, and mission stories; maintain safeguarding and data protection.
• Oversee external media photo/video shoots and coordinate with the team.
• Develop influencer and ambassador initiatives in line with strategy.
• Proactive media planning and reporting; support organisational priorities and campaigns.
