Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Working across a portfolio of technology brands, from growing businesses to established companies.
  • Developing a strong understanding of clients, their technology and the markets in which they operate.
  • Keeping on top of technology news, media trends and the wider news agenda.
  • Identifying stories and creative angles that journalists will genuinely want to cover.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with journalists and other key media contacts.
  • Owning elements of the media outreach process, from developing angles and writing pitches through to securing coverage.
  • Confidently pitching stories to journalists via telephone and email.
  • Drafting press releases, bylined articles, social media content, pitches and other communications materials.
  • Adapting your writing style for different clients, audiences and platforms.
  • Supporting creative PR campaigns across both B2B and B2C audiences.
  • Conducting media monitoring and producing clear campaign reports.
  • Evaluating campaign performance and helping the wider team identify opportunities to improve results.
  • Contributing ideas during brainstorms, client discussions and campaign planning.
  • Supporting the wider account team to keep campaigns organised and progressing effectively.

This Junior Account Executive (JAE) / Account Executive position is ideal for someone in the early stages of their PR career who wants to develop specialist expertise within technology communications.

Previous technology experience is important, while previous PR agency experience would be highly beneficial.You could be looking to establish yourself as a Junior Account Executive, already be working as a JAE and looking to progress, or be an Account Executive looking for an environment where you can develop your media relations and creative campaign skills.


The successful Junior Account Executive / Account Executive will need to understand how journalists think.You'll be curious enough to investigate complex technology topics, creative enough to uncover interesting angles and confident enough to pick up the phone and sell those ideas to the media.
