Job summary

Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority in Leyburn is seeking a PR & Communications Officer to join our Communications Team, shaping stories, delivering PR activity and building positive media relationships.

The role spans media relations, content creation, campaigns, publications and digital communications, working with colleagues to keep staff, Members and the public well informed.

Job description

Do you have a talent for storytelling and a strong understanding of media and public relations? If so, we're looking for a PR & Communications Officer to join our Communications Team.

As part of our small, collaborative and high-performing team, you'll help shape and share compelling stories, deliver impactful PR and communications activity, build positive media relationships and support the Authority's reputation through effective internal and external communications.

This is a varied and rewarding role spanning media relations, content creation, campaign delivery, publications, digital communications and reputation management. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Authority, provide expert communications advice, respond to media enquiries and help ensure staff, Members, stakeholders and the public remain informed and engaged.

The Role

You'll play a key role in ensuring the Authority communicates effectively with a wide range of audiences. You'll also lead the production of the Authority's flagship publications, including Visitor magazine and Dales newspaper, working with contributors, designers and colleagues across the organisation.
