Job description

PR & Communications executive |UK |HYBRID Heathrow area

Travel obsessed? Big tech fan? Hey, you’re in good company. If you want to be part of the industry that makes the world go round, then look no further.

Travelport is the brains behind lots of your travel bookings- plane, car or hotel. Our technology is used to book that magical holiday, infamous bachelorette party or long overdue school reunion. While we can’t solve mosquito bites or lost luggage, we can simplify a lot of the technical parts of travel, and we’re looking for the best thinkers to help us do it.

How you’ll make an impact

Travelport is looking for a PR & Communications Executive to support our External Communications team as we continue to strengthen Travelport’s voice in the travel technology market.

This is a hands‑on role for an ambitious early‑career communications professional who is interested in media relations, technology storytelling, thought leadership, and events. You will support day‑to‑day press office activity, media monitoring, media materials, speaking opportunity submissions, event logistics, and the amplification of earned media through close collaboration with our Digital and Social team.

As AI and large language models increasingly shape how people discover and understand brands, credible earned media, expert commentary and consistent external messaging matter more than ever. This role will help Travelport extend the reach of its external narrative and strengthen its position as a travel technology leader.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is curious, collaborative, organised and keen to build a career in PR and communications within a global B2B technology business.

Key Responsibilities
Media relations and press office support
  • Support the Head of External Communications with day-to-day media relations and press office activity.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry news, identifying relevant developments, opportunities and risks.
  • Maintain and update media lists, journalist contacts, and coverage trackers.
  • Draft and edit media materials, including press releases, media pitches, briefing notes, reactive statements, talking points, and award submissions.
  • Support journalist follow‑ups, media outreach, and the coordination of media enquiries.
  • Help gather information, proof points, approvals and stakeholder input for external communications activity.
  • Support the preparation of interview briefing materials, Q&As and follow‑up content.
  • Provide reliable day-to-day support when the Head of External Communications is not available.
Thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and awards
  • Research relevant speaking opportunities, awards, media features, podcasts, panels and industry platforms.
  • Support the development of speaker submissions, award entries, abstracts, biographies and briefing materials.
  • Work with Brand, Product Marketing, and Market Insights colleagues to gather supporting proof points and messages.
  • Support the amplification of thought leadership, executive visibility and earned media opportunities across relevant channels.
Event communications and logistics support
  • Support PR and communications activity around key Travelport events, customer events, trade shows and industry moments.
  • Work with the Events team to help coordinate event‑related materials, deadlines, approvals and logistics.
  • Support the preparation of event briefing documents, speaker notes, run‑of‑show materials, messaging documents and stakeholder packs.
  • Help coordinate event‑related content needs, including speaker bios, session descriptions, and communications materials.
  • Support media or speaker attendance where relevant, including press invites, media lists, briefing notes and follow‑up.
  • Help gather post‑event coverage, content, photographs, quotes and follow‑up materials.

  • Identify where media coverage, event moments, and executive visibility can be extended through owned and social channels.
  • Support joined‑up planning between PR, social, events and campaign activity.
Copy writing and content development
  • Draft clear, concise and engaging copy for media materials, event materials, briefing notes, web updates, award entries and communications content.
  • Translate complex travel technology, product or industry themes into accessible, audience‑relevant messaging.
  • Ensure copy is accurate, well‑structured and aligned with Travelport’s tone of voice, brand standards and messaging priorities.
  • Help repurpose external communications content for use across internal, owned and partner channels where appropriate.
  • Use AI tools appropriately to support research, drafting, editing and productivity, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, judgement and brand alignment.
