Job description

An established international consumer manufacturer has asked us to find an experienced PR and Events Manager to lead high-profile PR and events activity across its European business.

The communications team has recently been brought together under a new structure, creating an opportunity for someone to influence how PR and events are delivered internationally.

The Role

You will lead a varied programme of PR and events, combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering international product launches, media events and press experiences
  • Creating press materials, messaging, presentations and supporting visual content
  • Developing proactive PR stories, influencer initiatives and experiential campaigns
  • Managing agencies, production partners, suppliers and significant programme budgets
  • Working with international teams to create a consistent approach across different markets
  • Leading and developing a team member
  • Evaluating performance and recommending future PR and events priorities

International travel will be required. This will vary throughout the year and may become more regular during busy launch periods.

About You

You will already have experience leading both PR and events activity at this level, including large-scale product launches, media events or consumer experiences.

International experience is important, whether you have worked across European markets, within a regional structure or delivered campaigns and events for international audiences.

You will be commercially aware, confident managing substantial budgets and comfortable working with senior stakeholders, agencies and teams across different cultures and locations.

Most importantly, you will bring curiosity, a challenging spirit and the confidence to question established ways of working while remaining collaborative and hands-on.

Why Apply

This is an opportunity to join a newly formed communications team while its structure and approach are still evolving. You will have genuine ownership of the international PR and events strategy rather than inheriting a completely fixed way of doing things.

The role offers visible, high-profile work and a genuine balance of strategic responsibility and creative delivery.

Recruiter Thoughts

Ben, our Recruitment Partner who is managing this role, says:

"What stood out to me is the scope for someone to make this role their own. The business is bringing previously separate areas of communications together and wants an experienced PR and events professional who can help shape the new approach. There is plenty to get stuck into from the outset, but also real freedom to introduce new ideas and influence how the role develops."

Location

This hybrid role is based near Reading, with up to two days per week working from home depending on business requirements. The office is commutable from Wokingham, Maidenhead, Windsor, Slough, Bracknell, Ascot, Crowthorne and Sandhurst, as well as surrounding areas of Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire. Flexible start and finish times are also available.
