Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a well-regarded primary school in Hackney, London, to recruit a flexible PPA Cover Teacher. This long-term/temporary role is open to experienced practitioners or newly qualified teachers (QTS or equivalent) who value teamwork, professional development and pupil progress.

The role involves delivering high-quality lessons across KS1–KS2, adapting to different year groups, and supporting continuity of learning in a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience in a primary school setting is desirable, but ECTs are welcome to apply.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with pupils and staff.
• Strong organisational skills and the confidence to teach in a variety of year groups.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons across KS1 and KS2 to cover for teachers during Planning, Preparation and Assessment time.
• Adapt quickly to different classes, year groups and curriculum areas.
• Ensure continuity of learning by following the class teacher's planning and providing effective feedback.
• Foster a positive classroom environment where every child feels supported and challenged.
• Uphold the school's behaviour policy and safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Work closely with year group teams to contribute to the wider life of the school when needed.
