The Opportunity

EY is the UK’s leading PPA advisor, focusing on delivering PPA strategy and procurement for UK and European corporates and the public sector. The role includes supporting expansion into new services like green gas procurement and new European markets.

The EY Energy & Infrastructure team is a leading renewable energy advisor in UK & Europe, involved in high-profile transactions and corporate PPAs. Our team of ~30 professionals includes bankers, accountants, engineers, and energy experts. Working here offers both formal and on-the-job learning to develop skills as a renewable energy strategy advisor and senior manager, working alongside the M&A team.

This is a unique opportunity to join a market-leading, entrepreneurial team based in London with flexible working, requiring an average of 3 days in the office or at client sites.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Advising on procurement of PPAs and GPAs, including bid evaluation and contract negotiations.
• Leading research and report writing for renewable energy strategies and conducting client workshops.
• Preparing marketing materials and client deliverables for PPA/GPA projects.
• Driving revenue growth, originating PPA transactions, and expanding market share through business development.
• Analyzing energy consumption and pricing data, and running financial models with sensitivity analysis.
• Managing projects and stakeholders, including project developers and senior clients.
• Developing and maintaining client relationships and participating in marketing initiatives.
• Engaging in cross-functional projects related to M&A and decarbonization strategies.
• Collaborating across diverse, global operations and with colleagues across EY.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Experience and passion for renewable energy sector.
• Experience negotiating commercial terms for PPAs.
• Strong personal drive and motivation.
• Excellent English communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including Excel modeling.
• Financial modeling experience for renewable projects.
• Deep knowledge of renewable energy, power markets, and energy transition.
• Ability to lead projects, build relationships, and work under pressure.
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Degree-level education.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Business development experience and opportunity identification skills.
• Experience with gas hedging, trading, or purchase agreements.
• Active network-building through events, posts, or blogs.
• Track record of pitching and converting opportunities into revenue.
• Potential support for wider strategic objectives, including M&A.
• Advanced professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, CFA, MBA).
